Rime of the Frostmaiden
A narrative account of actual game play
My playing group, with me as a player, have undertaken the Rime of the Frostmaiden adventure campaign released by Wizards of the Coast in September 2020.
What follows is a narrative style account of that game with each session released weekly as a blog post
The Characters
Felwar Crisp
Human pact of the arch-fey warlock. Grew up in the small village of Dougan's Hole in Icewind Dale. He was a member of the cult of Auril as a child along with his mother and father. He spoke out against their teachings and was banished, exiled to the nearby woods where Titania of the Summer Court found and blessed him with her power.
Miquitzil
Human wizard. Miquitzil was born among the ice-hunter tribes north of the dale. Considered cursed by their shaman he was left to die as a babe but he survived the ordeal abeit changed by the experience. He returned to the tribe, but was never truly accepted. Years later, when the endless winter came the shaman exiled him and he has wandered the dale ever since.
Raine Durstin
Human fighter. Raine was a former farmer in the lands south of the dale. His wife and kids were killed when goblins raided their farm, and he took up arms to avenge them. Vengeance pays poorly though, so he took work as a caravan guard and travelled all around, eventually becoming trapped in the dale as the endless winter took hold.
Thelonious Jones
Human druid. He too grew up in Dougan's Hole, second sone of a potato farmer with his brother Brince. After their parents died, the two boys descended into drink and the farm predictably fell to ruin. Thelonious was captured poaching and sent to prison before finally finding his calling at the hands of some helpful rats.
