A visionary scientist saves humanity from extinction—only to doom it—and must return from the past to accept that true redemption lies not in undoing the damage, but in ensuring something better survives beyond it.
Act I - Descent

Track 1: Rise Into Wonder
Humanity is on the brink—overpopulation, environmental collapse, a suffocating Earth. A brilliant doctor (the “Architect”) creates a biotechnological lattice that allows humans to survive long-term stasis without losing their minds.
Lyrics
Our cities strain and shudder, every skyline breathing heat,
A planet drowning slowly under billions on its streets.
But in the crush of failing light, one voice refused to fade—
A doctor with a vision and a blueprint she had made.
She mapped the frozen thresholds where the human body fell,
Where stasis steals the mind and leaves a hollow shell.
Then wove a living lattice in our marrow and our nerves—
A whispering machine of hope to carry what we were.
And the world held its breath as the engines roared to life,
A dozen gleaming arks prepared to lift us, to survive.
A miracle of science born from innovative minds—
Humanity’s new future leaves our world behind.
They rise into wonder,
Climb through the smoke and sky.
Every dream in silver chambers
Sleeping safe as we say goodbye.
Hold the line, the future’s calling—
Let the old world dim from sight.
Carry them forward,
And bring them to the light.
Launch towers shook with thunder as the fleet began its climb,
A final hymn for Earth before the ending of our time.
The doctor joined the sleepers, trusting all she’d built to last—
A guardian of futures sealed in metal, cold, and glass.
Crowds below were singing as they rose on pillars of flame,
Believing in the promise that the stars should know our name.
But hope is always fragile when a world is stretched so thin—
And no one saw the shadow hidden deep within.
They rise into wonder,
Climb through the smoke and sky.
Every dream in silver chambers
Sleeping safe as we said goodbye.
Hold the line, the future’s calling—
And the old world fades from sight.
Carry them forward,
And leave us with the night.
And so the arks ascended, flying for distant suns,
Their silver dreams still echo with all that is to come.

Track 2: The Fade
The flaw emerges. Human cognition begins to degrade, people start losing language, identity, and higher thought i in a considtion that comes to be known as The Fade. Soon the condition worsens making the afflicted violent and widespread nature means that core infrastructure fails. Soon it is no longer safe to stay on Earth and some small number of survivors escape to orbital stations.
Lyrics
The first signs were whispers...
The first signs were whispers—little shivers in the heat,
A fading in the voices of the crowds that filled the streets.
We blamed a weary summer for the trembling in our hands,
Never knowing that the fade was already in our strands.
Then words began to falter, slipping loose from tongue and mind,
A blankness in the faces of the ones who fell behind.
Re flex over reason, instinct rising in our acts—
The lattice meant to save us broke along its hidden cracks.
The fade rises in the cities,
Spreading silent in our veins.
What starts as gentle flickers
Becomes a tremor we can't erase.
In the streets the dark was growing,
In our eyes the world went still—
And the fade beneath our skin
Learned its own and deadly will.
The power grids were failing and the people stayed at home,
Emergency lines crackled with a thousand broken tones.
The streets filled with the faded, who moved but couldn’t speak,
And they grew in numbers, more driven, more complete.
We fled up to the orbitals as death consumed the land,
Launch pads choked with families torn apart by bloodied hands.
The sky was red with warnings as the last few shuttles climbed,
And Earth below was drowning in the faded we left behind.
The fade rose in the cities,
Spreading silent in their veins.
What began as gentle flickers
Became a terror we don't contain.
From above the darkness deepened,
And the world below went still—
As the fade beneath their skin
Took them all with a deadly will.
The first signs were whispers...
The first signs were whispers...
The first signs were whispers!

Act II - Decay

Track 3: Orbital Twilight
Generations later, humanity clings to life in failing orbital stations. Resources are dwindling, and The Fade is still present within some. Earth below is dead, unreachable, useless.
Lyrics
Growing up in frozen corridors where every breath is thin,
And the hum of failing turbines is an ever-present din.
The wardens speak in whispers, as if noise could wake the Fade,
And loneliness is something every child wields like a blade.
They say we were the lucky ones, the sickness passed us by,
But luck now feels like waiting for another way to die.
I watch them take the tests again, the tremor in their hands—
Some vanish from the ration lines, like dust in broken fans.
Earth hung below in twilight, a lantern drowned in blue,
A world I never walked upon, a place I never knew.
We circle it in silence, in these spinning rings of rust,
And pray the Fade stays sleeping in the lattice within us.
The lights would flicker sometimes like a heart losing its beat,
And every empty bunk became one less source of heat.
We learned which doors were sealed forever, which vents no longer drew,
And how to play with shadows when our numbers grew too few.
Some nights the wardens gathered us to count those who still remain,
Their voices weak and trembling, their words all edged in pain.
They told us Earth was poisoned, where the faded walked the land—
And we all saw the ruins where no living soul could stand.
Earth hung below in twilight, a graveyard wrapped in blue,
A home we couldn’t run from and a world we cannot use.
We drifted in its orbit like a prayer that lost its light,
The last of us still breathing in an orbital twilight.
And in the hum of turbines, in the thinning of the air,
I learned that our inaction could be worse than our despair.

Track 4: Ark Ships Returning
The Ark Ships - humanity's supposed salvation - return from deep space. When the survivors attempt to contact them they get no response and upon boarding they soon discover that even the sleepers were not safe from The Fade. Desparate, the Ark ships become a source of resources for the remaining population.
Lyrics
The arks came gliding homeward from the black beyond the sun,
Their hulls like silver omens of a future come undone.
For a breath the stations quickened with a hope we thought we’d lost,
Believing they’d bring answers, or the kin we left in frost.
Their running lights were pulsing in a cadence of distress,
Like a chorus out of rhythm, with a message of duress.
We hailed them through the static, but no living voice came through,
Just silence in the channels and a coldness, strange and new.
We climbed their drifting shadows, praying sleepers might still wake,
But every chamber was a coffin, and our hope began to break.
The truth pressed in around us as we crossed the silent halls,
A dread within the metal and a heartbeat in the walls.
Ark ships returning, falling back from where they’d flown,
Every dream in crystal chambers now a graveyard of their bone.
We reached for lost salvation, but found silence in its stead,
Ark ships returning — all their promise steeped in dread.
Inside, the halls were quiet but the air hung cold and dead,
With a sickness in the sleepers, a glitch that learned to spread.
Some lay in frozen stasis, but their bodies weren’t alone,
The Faded moved among them — patterns stirring in the bone.
Still we carved the drifting arks apart to buy another night,
For a starving world grows ruthless in the absence of the light.
We traded fear for rations, told ourselves the choice was right,
But every hull we opened gave the dark a chance to bite.
Ghost ships returning, drifting tombs in orbit’s glow,
Our tomorrows locked inside them, with the rot we're forced to know.
Now the stations are waking to this nightmare brought to life,
Ghost ships returning — and the living face the strife.

Act III - Search

Track 5: Fragments of the Architect
The protagonist explores the Arks. Not for reseources but for information about the doctor who first created the lattice, the source of The Fade. They believe that she holds the key to a cure.
Lyrics
The corridors were breathing as he moved within the ark,
A labyrinth of research left to flicker in the dark.
Her name was on the screen, etched in light and static snows—
A ghost he’d never met, but somehow feels knows.
He found her voice in fragments, in the logs the ship had stored—
A tremor in her phrasing, in the way her voice implored.
Equations scrawled in files were like windows to her mind,
Brilliance turned to burden by the curse she’d left behind.
Every file he opened
Pulled him deeper through the dark.
Every word she whispered
Lit a fire inside his heart.
Fragments of the Architect,
Scattered through the broken halls.
Every shard a revelation,
Every echo still enthralls.
He doesn't know if she is living,
But he feels her in the air—
Fragments of the Architect,
He knows she’s waiting out there.
Her final logs were steady, full of plans she’d yet to try,
A promise to the sleepers that their journey would go right.
She sealed herself in stasis with a vow she’d see it through—
Placed her faith in science, wrapped in frost and fading blue.
He traced her final footsteps to the vessel where she slept,
To a cradle built of silver where her last resolve was kept.
He hoped she would be breathing, heartbeat strong within the deep—
A myth made real before him, in the quiet of her sleep.
Fragments of the Architect,
Gathered in his trembling hands.
All her purpose, all her genius,
And the ruin of her plans.
If the world still has a future,
She’s the one who holds the key—
Fragments of the Architect,
And she is calling out to me!

Track 6: Revenant, Awaken
The protagonist moves through the Ark where the doctor lays. They must fight off the Faded before being able to reach the stasis chamber where she sleeps. She awakens to learn of the ruin her creation had wrought upon the Earth and upon humanity itself. Together, she and the protagonist search for a solution.
Lyrics
Drifting through the void, he follows fragments left behind
Her name a whispered legend in the corners of his mind
The world she tried to save, lies broken in the dark
Yet in the quiet of the stars, he seeks her guiding spark
Echoes in the airlock, a heartbeat in the seams
A name in lights, the doctor, her legend torn by screams
A century of silence wrapped around her frozen frame
The fate of all that’s left behind, bound to her forsaken name
Revenant, awaken.
From the silence, from the cold.
You’re the hope that we’ve been chasing,
In the stories we were told.
Through the fear, though hope is shaken,
And our home is lost to night.
Revenant, awaken.
Guide us to the light.
Metal meets the marrow, the price of her design
A cure for distant worlds became the plague that stole our time
Her genius turned to ruin, her legacy aflame
The architect of sorrow now sleeping through our pain
Cryogenic slumber, she never heard the call
The sickness born from stardust, breaking every wall
Earth below is silent, its ashes mark the fall
But her frozen memories are the key to save us all
Deep within the shattered vaults, the dead refuse to lie
He forces back the darkness of the world she left behind
He wipes the frost from glass, his heartbeat running thin
The chamber sighs and opens as she slowly breathes again
She rises from the shadows, the truth heavy in her chest
He shows her all the ruin wrought by sickness and by death
Together through the wreckage they search for what remains
The spark of our salvation hidden deep within the strains
Revenant, awaken.
From the silence, from the cold.
You’re the hope that we’ve been chasing,
In the stories we were told.
Through the fear, though hope is shaken,
And our home is lost to night.
Revenant, awaken.
Lead us into light!

Act IV - Redemption

Track 7: Hope Flickers
Work begins on a cure. Meticulous and thorough the pair work together to gather resources and information needed to make this dream a reality. Despite their best efforts the Fade cannot be undone, so instead they set their sights on protecting those who have survived.
Lyrics
We moved through streets in cities where the Faded walk the land.
Searched labs to find the answers in the wreckage close at hand.
She passed through ruined corridors, silent through it all—
A doctor seeking penance for the world she caused to fall.
We found her old schematics in a vault the years had sealed,
A blueprint of her brilliance and the flaw it once concealed.
She rewrote every sequence, purged the sickness from the code—
A cure for those she tainted, just a fraction of what she owed.
For a moment, hope returned-
A sudden fire in her eyes.
For a moment, I believed that
We might see a clear sunrise.
But the cure did not restore them,
Every test just came undone.
And the sleepers stayed corrupted,
Our new future still unwon.
We were reaching for redemption
In a world that couldn’t hear.
And the cure did not restore them,
Only failure, cold and clear.
She fell against a console like the strength had left her bones,
A prophet out of miracles, a queen without a throne.
I held her through the static as the lab lights dimmed to red—
Two ghosts among the ruins, mourning futures long since dead.
She watched the sensors flicker with a truth she couldn’t face,
All hope of our salvation drowned beneath the failing trace.
“I can’t fix the ones corrupted,” she whispered through the pain,
"We must turn toward the living — protect those who remain.”
For a moment, hope returned-
A sudden fire in her eyes.
For a moment, I believed that
We might see a clear sunrise.
The cure could never save them,
So we gathered in the rust.
All our monuments to progress
Lay in ruins, choked with dust.
If the dawn still has a meaning,
It’s for those who still remain.
With the earth beyond redemption,
We turn to the stars again.

Track 8: Exodus of Light
An Ark Ship is cleansed of The Faded, and repaired and resupplied. The doctore innoculates the survivors with her corrected - now safe - lattice and what remains of humanity leaves the Earth behind. Unable to redeem her past, she can at least secure a future for all who remain.
Lyrics
We purged an ark of shadows, every corridor laid bare,
A ship once filled with horrors now reclaimed from cold despair.
She walked among the stasis chambers with a doctor's steel resolve,
Undoing all the damage that forgiveness would not absolve.
We gathered the survivors from the rusted rings above,
The broken and the weary who held to those they love.
She touched each person gently, and rewrote their fragile fate,
A final gift of hope that we prayed was not too late.
The chambers hummed with promise,
Silver hearts restore their glow.
For the first time since the fall,
We felt something start to grow.
Exodus of light,
Leaving from a world undone.
Every soul in crystal slumber
Carried to a distant sun.
We’re not leaving Earth in triumph,
Just the will to stay alive.
An exodus of light—
That our people might survive.
One by one they enter stasis, trusting fate to guide their dreams,
A fragile chain of sleepers bound for a world we'd never seen.
She turned to me in silence, with the weight of all we’d lost—
“Hope is only honest when you know just what it cost.”
We stood upon the ark ship as the engines flared to life,
The doctor bowed her head, her anguish sharp as any knife.
“This world deserved far better than the ghosts we leave behind,
But at least this time our leaving brings hope for humankind."
The engines burned with promise,
Faint sparks escape their strife
For the first time since the fall,
We decide to reach for life.
Exodus of light,
Leaving all we couldn’t save.
Every memory of our home world
Now a blessing and a grave.
As the engines split the heavens
And the dying Earth grew small—
An exodus of light,
We rise into the wonder of it all.
Earth falls into the distance, just a pale blue dot we know,
A cradle filled with sorrow, fading in its final glow.
And though the stars are endless, and the night is vast and wide—
We carry all its stories,
To the other side.
